Why did the software update not start for my Lincoln?

A scheduled Software Update may not start if your vehicle was not turned off, was not in park, or the doors were open.

The following items must be completed before attempting the next scheduled Software Update , or you may receive an error message:

  • Gas vehicles must be on and running for at least 30 minutes before initiating a software update.
  • Your vehicle is stopped and parked.
  • Your parking brake is engaged.
  • The update is scheduled for before or after 12 a.m. (not exactly 12 a.m.)
  • Your vehicle's ignition is off.
  • All your doors, the hood, and the trunk are closed.
  • Your headlights are turned off.
  • Your hybrid vehicle is not charging.

If any of the above conditions are not met, you will receive a "Vehicle Not Updated" message on your vehicle's screen. Address the reason contained in the message before the next scheduled update.

If you are still receiving error messages for the failed update, contact a Lincoln Concierge at 1-800-387-9333 or select Chat Now on the Contact Us page of lincolncanada.com.
