How do I change Vehicle Connectivity Settings with SYNC?
You can enable or disable Vehicle Connectivity through the settings menu of your SYNC®* or Lincoln Digital Experience®** system using the instructions in this article.
Notes:
- Lincoln recommends keeping Vehicle Connectivity on for software updates with SYNC 4-equipped vehicles.
- All Connectivity Settings must be enabled to access all Lincoln app† features.
Turning Vehicle Connectivity Settings On and Off
Important: Your vehicle must be parked and running, and in an open, well-ventilated, and safe area.
Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to modify your SYNC connectivity settings. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
Notes:
- SYNC generations without a touchscreen do not have Connectivity Settings.
- If your SYNC generation is not listed, it does not have Vehicle Connectivity.
- Instructions may vary. See your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.
Identifying Your Lincoln's SYNC Generation

Lincoln Digital Experience
Changing Connectivity Settings
- Select the Vehicle icon from the Lincoln Digital Experience screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down and select Network & Internet.
- Toggle the Vehicle Connectivity slider to your preference (On or Off).
- If the toggle is blue and to the right, vehicle connectivity is on.
- If the toggle is white or gray and to the left, vehicle connectivity is off.
- Select Back to return to Settings.
- Scroll down and choose Privacy.
- Tap Data sharing with Lincoln and enable all toggles in this section.
Enabling Location Sharing
- Tap the Vehicle icon on the left side of your Lincoln Digital Experience screen.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down to the Location Services section and slide the Share Location with Lincoln toggle to the right to enable the sharing of location data.
Note: The Use location slider in the Location menu only controls the data sharing with Google, not Lincoln.
Enabling Vehicle and Driving Data Sharing
- Tap the Vehicle icon on the left side of your Lincoln Digital Experience screen.
- Select Settings.
- Choose Privacy.
- Scroll down and tap Data sharing with Lincoln.
- Slide both the Share Vehicle Data and Share Driving Data sliders to the right to enable the sharing of vehicle and driving data.
Certain features, such as Connected Navigation or Sirius XM, may have their own toggle in the Vehicle Connectivity/Connected Vehicle Features section. For these features to function properly, the setting must be toggled on. Ensure all relevant features are enabled when configuring connectivity settings.
SYNC 4
- Select Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap Connectivity.
- Choose Connectivity Vehicle Features.
- Toggle the Vehicle Connectivity slider to your preference (On or Off).
Certain features, such as Connected Navigation or Sirius XM, may have their own toggle in the Vehicle Connectivity/Connected Vehicle Features section. For these features to function properly, the setting must be toggled on. Ensure all relevant features are enabled when configuring connectivity settings.
SYNC 3 With Touchscreen
- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Lincoln Connect®†† Settings.
- Press Connectivity Settings.
- Toggle the Vehicle Connectivity slider to your preference (On or Off).
Note: Older SYNC 3 versions do not support Vehicle Connectivity.

- Weather
- News
- Traffic
- Navigation
- Points of interest
With connected features, you can also access:
- Bluetooth® Prioritization: Add, delete, and prioritize your Bluetooth-enabled devices with Bluetooth Prioritization.
- Wi-Fi® Network Management: Add and delete your list of Wi-Fi networks.
