How do I set the clock with SYNC?

You can adjust your Lincoln vehicle's time through the clock settings of your SYNC®* system.

Changing the Time on Your Clock

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to adjust the time and settings of your vehicle's clock. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.

Note: Actual screens may vary. See your Owner's Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

Either:

  • Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
  • Log in with your Lincoln credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.

Note: Your SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

SYNC 4

To set the time with SYNC 4:

  1. Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Clock Settings.
  3. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the time.

To adjust automatic time change settings with SYNC 4:

  1. Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Clock Settings.
  3. Switch Automatic time zone update on or off.

SYNC 3

To personalize your clock settings with SYNC 3:

  1. Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Clock:
    • Set the time using the plus sign (+) or minus sign (-).
    • Press AM or PM.
    • Choose a clock format (12-hour or 24-hour mode).
    • Turn on Automatic Time Zone update (for navigation-equipped vehicles).
    • Set the clock to GPS time (for navigation-equipped vehicles).

SYNC with MyLincoln Touch®

To personalize your clock settings using SYNC with MyLincoln Touch:

  1. Press the clock display on top of your SYNC screen.
  2. Press the plus sign (+) or minus sign (-) to adjust the time.
  3. Choose AM or PM.
  4. Use the up and down arrows to set your preferences:
    • Set the clock display (date or time).
    • Reset the clock to GPS time (for vehicles equipped with navigation).
    • Display outside temperature.
    • Turn the toggle for Automatic Time Zone updates on or off.
    • Select a 12-hour or 24-hour format.

SYNC Gen 1 (Without Navigation)

Refer to the table below for instructions to set the time based on your SYNC system's button configuration.

  1. Press and hold the CLK button until the hours start to flash.
  2. Adjust the time using the up/down or left/right arrows.
  3. Press the CLK button to exit clock setting mode.
  1. Press Clock. The display will read “Set Time.”
  2. Enter the time in hours and minutes using memory preset number buttons.

SYNC Gen 1 (With Navigation)

Setting the Time

  1. Press the physical Menu button.
  2. Select the Clock tab on your vehicle's touch screen.
  3. Press the plus sign (+) or minus sign (-) to increase or decrease the time, and then select AM or PM

Optionally, you can:

  • Turn the Clock Display on/off by pressing the On or Off button next to the Display Clock.
  • Select a 12-hour or 24-hour format by pressing the 12-Hour or 24-Hour button next to Format.
  • Select the Reset button next to Restore Defaults (synchronize with GPS) to reset to default settings.

Notes:

  • If Auto Time Zone is enabled, the system will automatically adjust when you enter a new time zone.
  • The system does not implement daylight savings time. You must manually adjust the time.

Setting the Date

  1. Go to the Clock menu.
  2. Select the Reset button next to Restore Defaults (synchronize with GPS) to reset to default settings.

Viewing the System Calendar

  1. Press the “i” physical button.
  2. Select the Calendar tab on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  3. Use the left and right arrows to select a month.
  4. Select Go to Today for today’s date.
