How do I check for SYNC updates?

You can view available SYNC®* 4 and Digital Experience updates on your vehicle's screen. For most other versions of SYNC, go to the Lincoln SYNC and Navigation Updates website.

Checking Your SYNC Software Updates

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to verify if there are any updates available for your SYNC system. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, refer to the SYNC Visual Reference Guide.

Lincoln Digital Experience

  1. Select Settings on your vehicle's Digital Experience screen.
  2. Tap System. 
  3. Choose Software Updates. 
  4. Press Update Details to display any pending updates and previous update details. 

SYNC 4

  1. Select Settings on your SYNC screen. 
  2. Tap Software Updates.
  3. Press Update Details to display any pending updates and previous update details. 

SYNC 3, SYNC with MyLincoln Touch, SYNC Gen 1.1, and SYNC Gen 1

  1. Visit the SYNC and Navigation Updates page.
  2. Either:
    • Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
    • Log in with your Lincoln credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.
  3. Select the SYNC Update Available dropdown. 
    • If your SYNC software is current, you will see a green checkmark and a message stating that an update is not available for your vehicle.
    • If your SYNC software is not current, you will see a triangle with an exclamation point. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your software update.
