What is Lincoln's Auto Hold feature?

Auto Hold* keeps the vehicle at a complete stop until you press the accelerator. This is useful in stop-and-go traffic and at traffic lights. The rear brake lights remain illuminated when Auto Hold is engaged.

Important:

  • The system does not replace the parking brake. When you leave your vehicle, always apply the parking brake.
  • Depending on your vehicle model and year, this feature might be engaged by default on your vehicle.

Using Auto Hold

The instructions below may vary depending on your vehicle model and year. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

  1. Press the brake to bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
  2. Press the Auto Hold button on the instrument cluster or the center console to turn the feature on. The Auto Hold icon on the instrument cluster will illuminate when the system is turned on.
