What should I do if my Vehicle Location is not working in the Lincoln app?

If the Vehicle Location feature is not working and your vehicle meets the requirements below, follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.

Important: To use the Vehicle Location feature in the Lincoln app:

• Your vehicle must be equipped with a modem.
• Your vehicle must be added​ to the Lincoln app, and the app permissions must be granted upon login.
• Your vehicle's modem must be activated.
• Connectivity settings in the vehicle must be on.

Vehicle Location is Not Updating 

1. Navigate to the Vehicle screen in the Lincoln app.
2. Select the Vehicle Location tile.
3. Press the Refresh button (circular arrow) on the top-right corner of your screen.

Notes: 

• The Lincoln app should display the most recent time and address in the Vehicle Location section under the map.
• You can refresh your vehicle's location up to 3 times at 30-second intervals each time.
• If the message "Refresh failed. May be due to poor vehicle connectivity." appears, it may be a symptom of a larger issue, such as a non-communicating modem.
• Verify if your other remote commands are working, such as:
  • Remote Start^*
  • Lock and Unlock^**
• If your other remote commands are successful but your vehicle's location refresh continues to fail, please select to contact Ford app support for additional assistance.

Unable to Locate Your Vehicle

If the steps above did not resolve your issue, proceed to the following instructions. Verify that your vehicle location appears after each step before proceeding to the next.

1. Ensure that you have allowed the required app permissions in your vehicle's location settings.
   • Android^™ Settings: Select Settings > Location > App Permissions.
   • Apple^® Settings: Select Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
2. Ensure Vehicle Location is enabled in your Connectivity Settings menu.
3. Ensure your Lincoln app is up to date.
4. Log out of the app and then log back in.
5. Delete then reinstall the app.
