How do I make my Phone As A Key work better?

Using the Lincoln app, you can optimize your Phone As A Key™* device for best performance.

Note: Optimizing Phone As A Key also provides troubleshooting tips if you experience issues. 

Optimize Phone As A Key

  1. Log in to the Lincoln app.
  2. Ensure you have the correct vehicle selected (if you have more than one vehicle added to your Ford app), then scroll down the screen and tap Phone As A Key under Settings.
  3. Locate the Optimize section under the Device keys section.
  4. Tap a menu item (e.g., Bluetooth®, Location Services, etc.) to adjust the settings.
    • If a check mark is shown for an item, you cannot select it, as your Phone As A Key settings are at top performance levels.
    • If a warning icon (i.e., exclamation mark [!]) is shown, you can adjust your settings by tapping the menu item using the recommended steps provided by the app.

When a setting has been successfully adjusted, a check mark will appear, and you can no longer tap it. Once all menu items have a check mark, your Phone As A Key settings are at top performance levels.
