How do automatic door locks work on my Lincoln vehicle?

Automatic door locks* automatically lock or unlock your vehicle doors based on your speed, driver's side door, or how close your key fob is.

  • Autolock: Your vehicle doors will automatically lock when your speed exceeds 20 km/h.
  • Autounlock: Your vehicle doors will automatically unlock when the engine is turned off and the driver's door is opened.

Note: Your vehicle may also be equipped with keyless entry*. Keyless entry uses sensors to detect your key fob. Your doors will lock automatically as you walk away or unlock as you approach.

Features and settings vary by vehicle model and year. To learn more about this feature, including how to enable/disable it, refer to your Owner's Manual under the Doors and Locks section.

If you are experiencing a concern with your automatic door locks, contact your Lincoln Retailer or Ford Dealer.
